W. Clifford Watts have a history steeped in equestrianism. Our founder, Wyndham Clifford Watts and his son Robert were both passionate about horseracing and owned a number of successful racehorses over the years (Robert himself competed in Point to Points). Richard and David Watts were successful showjumpers, David represented Great Britain on the junior teams and was a finalist at the Horse of the Year Show. Today, David’s daughters are keen showing enthusiasts, both having had results at the Horse of the Year Show.
Budget arena sand
We supply arena sands suitable for private yards or commercial equestrian centres. The budget sand offers an excellent cost effective alternative to silica sand. As with all equestrian arenas, an effective drainage layer is critical to prevent it becoming waterlogged and susceptible to freezing during winter months.
Good advice is crucial to the success of your riding surface. Take advantage of our considerable experience in this area to prevent costly errors on your ménage installation.
Our sands can also be used to top up existing arenas or combine with rubber crumb, depending on your preference.
Surfacing aggregates
Improve first impressions with a well constructed driveway, yard or parking area.
Quality aggregates sourced from our own quarries can dramatically improve the practical and aesthetic features on your yard. W. Clifford Watts. Ltd. also supply aggregates to horse owners for use in gateways where horses stand to prevent excess mud becoming a problem. Drainage aggregates
The drainage system is critical to the success of any riding arena construction. A soggy surface will mean the arena is susceptible to freezing during the winter months leaving your ménage out of action.
Our aggregates are ideal to use during the construction phase and can be delivered in 5, 10, 20 and 28 tonne loads.
Additionally our aggregates are frequently used in land drainage for fields and riding arenas. Ditches and channels are dug out and back filled with aggregates to improve drainage in areas where waterlogging and mud can restrict winter use.
